I'm using kernel 2.2.17+ReiserFS+latest IDE patchset, and glibc-2.1.3.
Pretty much stock Red Hat 6.2 with all errata, and a custom kernel RPM.
  It's the same kernel and glibc we ship with, so it's proven pretty stable.

Ok...hmmm, was one of cbdata's side effects to reduce memory
fragmentation, by any chance? ;-)

I'll run some more benches right now with the newest squid-HEAD and see
what comes of it.
