Squid-2.5 RELEASE

I did send a todo list some weeks ago. On this list only the SASL
helper merge has been completed.

No, the Vary issue has not been adressed either. Forgot about it.
Thanks for the reminder.

The most daunting task is the last.. someone needs to look into
bugzilla and sort out what needs to be fixed. There quite likely is
many reports that deserve attention.

I for one do not have time to periodically look into bugzilla, and
most new items are still assigned silently to wessels only with no
notification on squid-bugs so I don't know they are there..

Squid-2.5.PRE5 has been released some hour ago.

Draft timeframe for Squid-2.5.STABLE unless any serious problems is
detected further delaying things:

 - Mid april: Squid-2.5.PRE6
 - End of april: Squid-2.5.STABLE1

Tasks to complete for 2.5.PRE6:
  - The remaining auth fixes. (Robert)
  - There apparently is problems with lost FTP icons again...
  - If winbindd stabilizes, then integrate the winbind helper.
  - Integration of the Cyrus-SASL helper (Me)
  - Update of the Basic NTLM helper? (the one distributed with Squid
apparently does not work since long back..)
  - Spend some time with Bugzilla to sort out other bugs that may
need to be fixed.
