Bug #1616: assertion failed: comm_generic.c:65: "F->flags.open" on storeResumeFD.

Steven (or anyone else who feels comfortable with the defer handling in
2.6) could you try looking into this bug. I have a reasonable suspicion
what the problem is (see the bug report), but I have not yet made a test
case out of it or looked at how to best handle the situation.

As some of you know I am not feeling too well at the moment and should
really be in bed.. so any help squashing the known 2.6 bugs is
appreciated.
