The trunk port is in the final polishing/testing stage and should be
ready next week.

I am not pushing for a "fast track" commit of chunked requests hack to
3.0. If there is consensus that the hack should be committed to 3.0, I
am totally fine with letting its port simmer in trunk and/or 3.1 until
everybody is comfortable with committing the original 3.0 hack.
