Squid and FreeBSD ... aaarrrgh!

Morning all ...

I have a problem compiling squid-1.1.4 on a FreeBSD2.0 box.
I get this when compiling :

ranlib: libmiscutil.a: Inappropriate file type or format

Must I upgrade my ranlib, or is this some library problem

Anyone?
