Various runtime issues

Hello,

I have some questions regarding long-term use of Squid. I have had a
cache running for about 1 month now. Specs are PentiumIII/500Mhz, 512MB
RAM, 13Gig cache directory. Linux 2.2.13. My Byte-Hit ratio used to be
between 25-30%, and would peak at around 40%, however in the last 2
weeks it hasn't really gone over 25%. It more often than not hovers at
20-22%. My LRU is about 2.9 days.

I have set my cache_mem value to many settings, and 200MB seems to let
squid run happily. Should I increase/decrease this value, and if so,
why?

I would also be interested in knowing if adding another 18Gig of disk
space will improve my byte hit ratio. Should I add disk space, should I
also add some more RAM?

For the sake of this email, I have included my cachemanager general
info. See below.

All comments are welcome!

Thanks in advance,

Chris
