[SQU] squid and socks

in unix freebsd I have installed proxy cache squid 2.2

what relation is between proxy cache squid and sock4 or sock5?

how can I install sock4 or sock5 for being used by the users of the squid in
their internet access?

thanks a lot if you answer...I don't know too much about this and is urgent
