[squid-users] what does it mean?

Hi all.
I'm using squid version 2.4stable6 on a linux debian woody system.
It worked normally for about one year.
Unexpectedly, one day I see this message:

Squid Cache (Version 2.4.STABLE6): Terminated abnormally.
CPU Usage: 0.020 seconds = 0.020 user + 0.000 sys
Maximum Resident Size: 0 KB
Page faults with physical i/o: 353
/etc/init.d/squid: line 122: 1515 Aborted start-stop-daemon
--quiet --start --pidfile $PIDFILE --exec $DAEMON -- $SQUID_ARGS </dev/null
squid.

I attempt to deinstall and then reistall squid but it doesn't start.
It means that I have a disk failure?
Thank you.

Mauro
